"table saw, literally" is a weekend modification ("mod:" akin to hack, edit, re-imagine) of a tired, portable table-saw produced by Bosch.  The vertical adjustment crank no longer worked and the plastic body was deteriorated to the point that it was bothersome in use.  In taking it apart to fix the vertical adjustment mechanism, I broke a mount and had to repair the new damage.  Once repaired, I adapted the motor and table surface, as well as the fence, to an actual table.  The table top serves as an out-feed surface, while the table body carries the tool and incorporates a new lower shelf on wheels.  I was reluctant to use the saw in its old state but now it's far more enjoyable.
